We are a family owned and operated commercial printer and book manufacturer with more than 50 years' experience in the industry. We are looking for an individual with strong mechanical aptitude and a positive attitude to join our team!
Job Description: The right candidate will possess the ability to multi-task and have a desire to produce quality products while adhering to scheduling deadlines. Previous bindery and/or press experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual. This position requires attention to detail regarding products and associated material requirements. This position operates under general supervision of the lead binder operator and plant manager. Will be required to perform other duties and work in other departments when needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate equipment per generally accepted Industry and Company operating procedures.
- Follow daily production schedule and alert management to any possible job delays or changes.
- Know and follow accepted set-up and production procedures to produce a quality product.
- Learn and follow all safety requirements.
- Verify all production counts and record accurately.
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to equipment to keep book quality and quantities within accepted guidelines.
- Oversee and mentor support binder personnel for efficient operation.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 5 years bindery or printing experience is preferred, but not required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs, frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to spend the entire day on your feet. Good physical dexterity is required.
- Mechanically adept to make minor repairs/adjustment to equipment.
- Satisfactory performance on Mechanical Aptitude test.
- Must obey and follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
- Must wear or use any required safety equipment.
- Must adhere to Rules of Conduct, as described in Employee Manual
- Overtime and weekend work is required when requested by management.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
