Digital Print Department Manager

Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to plan, schedule, direct and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Production Department. Performs all essential functions to ensure the proper deadlines are met in an efficient, cost effective manner and within quality standards, client’s specifications and postal regulation guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and set departmental goals and align with company Measure and report results for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Designs, analyzes, recommends and implements workflow processes, policies and procedures for area of responsibility.
  • Overseas Supervisor/Assistant Manager organization and scheduling of production operations to assure quality of service and customer satisfaction of all mail processing services, as well as postal regulation compliance in all Schedule, plan and chair department production meetings.
  • Monitor quality, accuracy and timeliness of all client orders. Ensure mail drops are made in a timely and efficient manner within specifications of clients and postal regulation guidelines. Assures quality and customer satisfaction is emphasized in all processes and services provided.
  • Supports Sales Team in Customer meetings and quarterly reviews. In conjunction with Operations and Sales Team, evaluates customers’ mail to assist with contract pricing and feasibility of processing.
  • Oversees and directs activities related to equipment maintenance and cleanliness/safety of the physical work
  • Responsible for the professional development of all staff members, provides direction, addresses employee issues, ensures company policies, practices and guidelines and applicable laws are followed at all Reviews performance and requests pay increases, promotions, disciplinary actions, hiring, and terminations in conjunction with Human Resources, provides support and assistance in employee relations.
  • Provides operational support and reporting to the Director of Operations and fellow cross-functional managers as required to ensure company and client objectives are met.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or vocational/technical certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years related business unit leadership and supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of USPS mailing requirements is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data to make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals and USPS postal regulations.
  • Ability to write business quality reports, correspondences, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating fairness in decisions, ability to maintain professional demeanor in stressful situations and show respect to all. Strong Verbal and written communications skills.   Ability to negotiate and mediate situations to a constructive conclusion.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficient.
