Bindery Manager

General Purpose: Responsible for leading the employees and workflow in the Bindery, includes ensuring a safe work environment and meeting production goals. This position is responsible for the manufacturing processes, personnel management and job production in a manner that maximizes efficiency and meets production schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the output of quality products.
- Will work with the Bindery staff to produce jobs in an efficient manner based on a daily schedule.
- Assures highest of quality standards while maintaining established production goals.
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment and reports mechanical problems.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training employees; assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Position:
- Punches holes in paper sheets, manually or by machine.
- Run various book binding machines from hand stitched to saddle stitched.
- Attend various folders while catching and loading printed pieces.
- Hand work which may include collating, slotting and mailings.
- Wraps product in plastic, using shrink-wrapping machine, packs products in boxes, and tapes lids of boxes shut.
- Receiving clerk and inventory control clerk.
- Examining jobs for quality and confirming that job details are correct before shipping.
- Recording daily production.
- Cleaning the work area around machines.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have 3-5 years’ Bindery experience.
- Must have strong technical knowledge of bindery operations and mechanical skills.
- Basic computer skills needed in this computer automated company.
