TAGA and Continuous Improvement Status

We regret to announce that PIA has decided to cancel this year’s TAGA event in Oklahoma City, scheduled for this coming weekend. The recent WHO declaration of a worldwide pandemic has had a cataclysmic impact on speaker and attendee participation.  As everyone knows this event is heavily focused on academia which has issued significant travel bans for students and educators, making it impossible to proceed with the conference.

PIA is exploring how and when the event might be re-scheduled and will also endeavor to put on some of the program in a virtual conference format this year.

There has not yet been a decision made concerning the CI Conference to be held in early April in Columbus but this event is certainly vulnerable.

In the coming weeks a decision will also have to be made about the Spring Administrative meetings in Pittsburgh. A number of boards are opting for conference calls in lieu of face to face gatherings in light of Coronavirus fears.

At this point the Continuous Improvement Conference will be conducted as scheduled. We will be implementing steps recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to reduce the risk of attendees getting or spreading a respiratory illness at the event. Should the situation change, we will notify registrants and update the website.
