USPS Proposes Higher Prices
Source: Mailers Hub, April 21, 2025
In a filing with the Postal Regulatory Commission late in the afternoon of April 9, the Postal Service proposed higher prices for market-dominant mail to take effect on July 13.
Because the PRC decision has not been issued on the USPS proposal to eliminate Bound Printed Matter, filed December 20, the rate filing has two versions – one the status quo and the other reflecting the elimination of BPM. Charts showing the proposed prices in each version are at the end of this article. (The proposed rule containing the applicable DMM revisions is still under review, but is expected soon.)
The USPS had no “bank” (unused rate authority) from the prior rate increase and, because it’s using all available authority for this filing, will have none left for future use
