Leading Through Legislation: Understanding Extended Producer Responsibility
When: Tuesday, November 18 | 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Where: In-person / Zoom
Cost: $45
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is transforming how packaging, labeling, and printed materials are designed, produced, and managed at the end of their lifecycle. As legislation continues to advance across multiple states—and begins to influence federal discussions—EPR will have major implications for the printing, packaging, and manufacturing sectors.
To help business leaders stay ahead of these changes, Graphic Media Alliance (GMA) is hosting an Executive Leadership Training featuring industry experts from Smurfit Westrock and the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW). This session will break down what EPR means for your organization and how to proactively prepare for its wide-ranging effects on supply chains, pricing structures, and compliance requirements.
Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how EPR legislation is developing across the country and who holds responsibility under these laws. Printers, converters, and brand partners will learn what specific obligations may fall to them and how to anticipate the operational and financial impacts before mandates reach the Midwest.
In addition, participants will receive practical strategies for navigating design and data requirements, managing cost implications, and implementing sustainable business practices that align with upcoming regulations. The session will also include an important update on advocacy efforts underway through GMA and the Americas Printing Association Network (APAN), ensuring that members’ voices are heard in state and national discussions shaping the future of EPR policy.
As this significant shift continues to redefine the manufacturing and printing landscape, it’s critical for executives to understand what’s coming, what actions are being taken on their behalf, and how to position their businesses for success in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.
Join fellow industry leaders on November 18 to gain the insight, clarity, and strategies needed to navigate EPR confidently and protect your company’s future.
