Print Week 2025: Hall of Distinction Inductee
We eagerly anticipate the upcoming celebration of our Print Excellence Awards, where we will recognize outstanding achievements in print across our four regions.
These events promise to be a vibrant gathering of industry professionals, enthusiasts, and leaders, fostering a sense of camaraderie and celebrating creativity and innovation within the print realm. The anticipation is building, and we can't wait to come together to applaud exceptional work, create new connections and collectively celebrate the remarkable individuals shaping the future of print.
Each year members of the Northern Ohio graphic arts community gather to honor outstanding individuals who have given of their time and talents to help further the goals of the Graphic Arts Community by honoring them with membership in the Hall of Distinction.
These individuals represent the best the industry has to offer and are selected based on the following criteria:
- Widely recognized success in the graphic communications industry
- Significant contribution of time and talent to trade and professional organizations
- Help and encouragement for young people interested in careers in the graphic communications industry
- Advice and counseling for those seeking employment in the industry
- Contributions to the general northern Ohio community outside of the industry including charitable participation and contributions, fundraising, volunteer support and promotion of civic initiatives
Congratulations to our 2024 Hall of Distinction Inductee, Kathy Bush of VisComm!
For four decades, Kathy Bush has been a steadfast leader and advocate in the printing and graphic communications industry. As the President and Owner of VisComm—formerly Bush Integrated—Kathy has built a legacy of innovation, mentorship, and unwavering integrity, guided by her personal motto: "I always try to do the right thing."
Kathy and her husband, Pat Bush, founded Bush Integrated in 1985, building it into a thriving enterprise. As the company grew, Kathy’s strategic vision and leadership propelled its evolution, positioning it for long-term success. Her ability to adapt to industry shifts and drive innovation led to the company’s rebranding as VisComm in 2021, reflecting its expanded capabilities and forward-thinking approach. Under her guidance, VisComm continues to thrive, cementing its reputation as a leader in the printing and graphic communications industry.
A passionate advocate for the next generation of industry professionals, Kathy has played a pivotal role in advancing education and career opportunities in print. As a Trustee of the Printing Industries Education Funds (PIEF) for over five years—and Chair since 2022—she has helped grow scholarship participation to record levels, awarding significant funding to students pursuing careers in the field. She takes an active role in the scholarship selection process, conducting interviews and making funding decisions that shape the future of the industry.
Beyond her contributions to print, Kathy has been deeply engaged in professional and leadership development. She was an integral part of the COSE Strategic Planning Course, which later became SPC 3.0, for 20 years—a structured program where participants began as students and later transitioned into mentors for new cohorts. Her commitment to fostering leadership and strategic thinking was unwavering until the program was dissolved this year following the founder’s retirement, as there was no successor to continue its legacy.
Kathy’s dedication extends beyond business. She works closely with organizations such as Cleveland Area Small Business (CSB), the City of Cleveland’s Mayor’s Office of Equal Opportunity, and Female Business Enterprise (FBE) programs, championing small businesses and advocating for diversity and inclusion. A passionate supporter of women in print, she has been a strong voice for advancing opportunities for women in the industry, ensuring they have the resources and mentorship needed to succeed.
Her induction into the Hall of Distinction is not only a recognition of her business acumen but also of her tireless efforts to empower those around her. With a legacy of leadership, mentorship, and service, Kathy Bush stands as a role model for future generations of women in print and the broader industry.
Please join us in celebrating Kathy Bush, a trailblazer in the printing industry and a true champion of education, opportunity, and integrity.
