LinkedIn Anomalies: Why Some Posts Go Viral
Source: Bill Farquharson, June 30, 2025
I had four LinkedIn posts go viral recently. Each hit over 250,000 views—a massive leap from my usual numbers.
The topics?
- “The Seven Nevers of Selling”
- “Why Friday isn’t a bad day for sales calls”
- “A Strange Sales Goal”
- And the surprise hit: “The Danger of Ignoring Your Top Sales Rep”
That last one sparked nearly 150 comments and 50 reposts—mostly from top reps saying, “Thank you. Finally someone sees us.”
What does that tell me?
There’s hunger for recognition of and appreciation for undervalued superstar reps.
Got a top rep? Chances are they are one of the 250,000 that read the comment and teared up.
And you will, too, when they leave your company for someone who knows a simple human fact: Words of affirmation go a long way.
The Sales Vault, created by Bill Farquharson, is a subscription-based resource and sales community featuring a calendar packed with live workshops, on-demand sales courses, peer-to-peer discussion groups, and 35+ years of sales training content all searchable by sales challenge. Think of it as a sales conference where the seminars and workshops, full of instantly applicable ideas, are ongoing and more programs are added constantly.
