The Millcraft Paper Company today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Steen-Macek Paper, a family-owned, independent paper merchant headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The transaction is expected to close on February 28, 2026.

For customers, this partnership represents far more than an ownership change. It signals a long-term investment in expanded capabilities, deeper inventory, and enhanced service, while preserving the people, relationships, and values that have defined Steen-Macek Paper for generations.

Founded in 1934, Steen-Macek Paper has built its reputation on trusted relationships, responsiveness, and deep product expertise. Headquartered in Green Bay, the company has long supported printers, designers, agencies, and businesses across Wisconsin and Upper Michigan with premium paper and specialty solutions. Its people-first culture and commitment to service have earned Steen-Macek its reputation as “the people in the paper business.”

Millcraft, founded in 1920, brings more than 100 years of stability, scale, and industry leadership as a fourth-generation, family-owned company. The acquisition reflects a shared belief that sustainable growth comes from long-term thinking, investment in people, and helping customers operate more efficiently in an evolving marketplace.

Together, Millcraft and Steen-Macek Paper create a stronger, more capable platform for customers. The combined organization offers expanded inventory and a broader range of products across diversified segments including paper, packaging, wide format, sign and banner materials, apparel decorating equipment including direct to film, direct to garment and dye sublimation, inkjet equipment, facility supplies, and so much more. Customers will also now have access to a full technical service team to enhance equipment and technology service options. In addition, Millcraft brings a new depth of advanced operational and technology platforms designed to improve efficiency, automation, inventory visibility, and ordering. This partnership provides customers with the stability of a well-capitalized, long-term partner committed to continued investment in products, people, and infrastructure.

Most importantly, Steen-Macek customers will continue working with their trusted local teams who understand their business, now supported by the resources and reach of a larger organization.

“Steen-Macek Paper has earned the trust of its customers by putting people first and consistently delivering exceptional service,” said Travis Mlakar, Chief Executive Officer of Millcraft. “That philosophy aligns perfectly with how Millcraft has operated for more than a century. This partnership allows us to bring broader capabilities, deeper inventory, a fantastic e-commerce and technical platform and advanced tools to the market, while preserving the relationships and culture that customers value most.”

This acquisition reflects Millcraft’s long-standing approach to growth through partnership and acquisition. As its 10th acquisition in the past 15 years, it demonstrates Millcraft’s continued commitment to supporting the print industry, investing in its people by providing stability, opportunity, and professional growth, while honoring the legacies of businesses built over decades so they can continue to thrive for generations to come.

“Taking care of our customers and employees has always been at the heart of Steen-Macek Paper,” said Rachel Ramaker, Vice President Steen-Macek Paper. Phil Milazzo, Steen Macek’s General Manager, went on to say that “partnering with Millcraft allows us to continue our focus on customers and employees while aligning with a company that shares our values, respects our history, and brings additional resources to support our customers for many years to come.”

Additional details regarding the acquisition will be shared following the close of the transaction.
