OSHA Questions? Start Here.
Source: Fisher Phillips, August 25, 2026
OSHA compliance can get complicated quickly, and even experienced employers can find themselves facing questions about their responsibilities.
The Workplace Safety Practice Group at Fisher Phillips has updated its comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions for Employers About OSHA resource for 2026, covering many of the situations employers may encounter when dealing with the agency.
The guide addresses topics including OSHA recordkeeping and electronic reporting, employee complaints, agency inspections and citations, challenging citations, the discovery process, OSHRC hearings, appeals, and state OSHA plans.
It also tackles some very practical questions. What should you do when an OSHA compliance officer arrives? Can an employee complaint trigger an inspection? Does OSHA provide advance notice? Which businesses are required to electronically submit injury and illness information? What rights does an employer have during an inspection?
For GMA members operating manufacturing and production facilities, it's a useful resource to bookmark before those questions become urgent.
Being prepared before OSHA comes calling can make a complicated situation much easier to navigate.
