The Leader Everyone Depends On Starts With the Leader in the Mirror

Meet ENCORE Speaker Mike Philie

Leadership comes with competing priorities, constant decisions and the expectation that others can count on you. But how often do leaders take the time to evaluate how they are managing their own growth, energy and effectiveness?

At ENCORE 2026, Mike Philie of PhilieGroup will close out the day with The Leader Everyone Depends On, a session focused on the idea that strong leadership begins with the individual.

Mike will challenge attendees to look beyond how they lead their organizations and consider how they lead themselves. From managing competing priorities and making better decisions under pressure to building resilience during change, this session will focus on the habits and practices that help leaders remain effective when others are counting on them.

Participants will walk away with practical strategies for continuous leadership growth, greater personal effectiveness and a personalized action plan they can put to work long after ENCORE concludes.

Mike will also be joined by Kurt Wells of the Center for Great Work Performance during the Emerging Leaders Academy session, bringing together two perspectives on what it takes to grow as a leader and consistently perform at your best.

Finish the Day Focused on What Comes Next

ENCORE 2026 is designed to build throughout the day, exploring the people, performance, technology, growth and decisions shaping your organization. This closing conversation brings the focus back to you and the kind of leader you want to be when you return to work.

Monday, October 5 | Quest Conference Center | Westerville, Ohio

Bring your emerging leaders. Bring your managers. Bring members of your senior leadership team. Better yet, come together and take the ideas back to your organization as a team.
