Urge Ohio Lawmakers to Support Legal System Abuse Reform

Source: Federated Insurance, April 14, 2025

Too often, Ohio families and businesses have suffered the adverse effects of loopholes in our legal system. The current gaps have resulted in continued legal system abuse that impacts all of us. One way to start to protect Ohioans is by increasing the transparency around third-party litigation financing or “lawsuit lending.” This practice is a rapidly growing and extremely concerning trend across our state. Lawsuit lending increases the risks of frivolous lawsuits and threatens to drive up the cost of products and services. Now more than ever, Ohioans cannot afford this.

The Ohio Legislature is considering SB 10 and HB 105 to reform predatory lending practices, protecting consumers and the integrity of our justice system. If passed, these bills would bring transparency and implement commonsense to protect consumers like you from bad-faith actors and foreign influences.

We need your voice! Together, we can urge lawmakers to pass these meaningful bills and protect Ohio consumers and businesses from further abuse.
